Ms. Leiva is the managing attorney and owner at Leiva Law Firm. Ms. Leiva represents clients in family-based petitions, including consular processing and waivers, obtaining legal permanent residency through marriage to US citizen, Fiancé Visas, Provisional Waivers, U-Visas for victims of crime, DACA, Travel Permits, and assisting clients in applying for naturalization including those with criminal issues in their past. She has extensive experience in representing LGBTQ+ clients in all immigration filings and also prepares and represents couples in marriage fraud interviews.
She graduated Cum Laude from John Marshall Law School. While in law school she was an intern at the Georgia Public Defender’s Office and participated in the Catholic Charities Immigration Clinic where they represented individuals before the Immigration Courts.
Prior to passing the bar, Ms. Leiva worked at an Atlanta Worker’s Compensation firm representing clients against insurers and assisting the trial attorney before the Workers’ Compensation Board. As the daughter of immigrants herself, Ms. Leiva believes in giving back to the immigrant community and volunteers with Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights of San Francisco to represent clients on a pro bono basis.
As a second-generation immigrant she has personal experience dealing with the bureaucracy of the agencies involved in the immigration process both here and abroad.
